Safeguarding

My commitment to the safety and welfare of every young person I work with.

Policy

Keeping young people safe

The safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children and young people is my highest priority. I am committed to creating environments where every young person feels safe, respected, and supported.

Checks and qualifications

  • Enhanced DBS checked (Disclosure and Barring Service)
  • Diploma in Trauma & Mental Health Informed Schools and Communities
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid trained
  • Professional integral coach, ICF certified
  • Level 3 Forest School Leader
  • Professional indemnity and public liability insurance

My commitments

  • I follow safeguarding best practices in line with current UK guidance
  • I maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times
  • I create safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental spaces for all participants
  • I operate a clear confidentiality policy — with limits explained to every young person at the start of our work together
  • If I believe a young person is at risk of harm, I will follow the appropriate safeguarding procedures, which may include sharing information with relevant authorities
  • I regularly update my training and stay current with safeguarding guidance

Confidentiality

What young people share in sessions is treated as confidential. However, confidentiality has limits — if I become concerned that someone is at risk of serious harm, I have a duty to act. I explain this clearly at the start of every coaching relationship, so there are no surprises.

For parents and guardians

I welcome questions about my safeguarding approach. If you'd like to see my full DBS certificate, insurance details, or discuss how I keep your young person safe, please get in touch.
